Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the deputy governor of Bayelsa State, was reportedly taken to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Yenagoa on Thursday after falling in his office.
Top government officials have visited the hospital to voice concerns, and security personnel have sealed it off. Mr. Doubara Atasi, the deputy governor’s media assistant, could not be reached for comment.
Nonetheless, a member of the hospital’s administration said that the deputy governor is stable and getting the best care available.
The Bayelsa State government has not yet issued an official statement about the development as of the time this article was filed.
