An international uproar has ensued over the allegations of a husband who, in his casual desire for YouTube, is said to have done the unimaginable to his wife.
Former model Kristina Joksimovic, 38, was reportedly murdered and “pureed” in a blender by her husband, according to local news source BZ Basel.
Joksimovic was part of the Miss Switzerland event. It is said that the accused was watching YouTube at the time of the alleged crime. If this claim is confirmed, it will expose a troubling disrespect for human life, which has outraged feminist organizations and human rights campaigners.
Joksimovic qualified for the 2007 Miss Switzerland finals after winning the Miss Northwest Switzerland competition. Her husband, Thomas, 41, is said to have confessed to killing his spouse who had two children for him.
According to BZ Basel, his appeal for his release was turned down by the Federal Court in Lausanne.
He allegedly confessed to the murder during a crime simulation in March, stating that he was acting in self-defense following her knife attack on him. This assertion is contradicted by the medical-forensic report, which disputes the self-defense angle.
However, according to People, he informed authorities shortly after the murder that he found Joksimovic dead by the stairs and panicked. He eventually allegedly admitted to dismembering her.
According to BZ Basel, the suspect chopped up Joksimovic’s body after dismembering her with a chainsaw and garden shears before slicing up the remains, minced with a hand blender, ‘pureed’, and then dissolved in a chemical concoction.
The ongoing investigation suggests that the accused showed a “conspicuously high level of criminal energy, lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife” in his efforts to conceal the alleged murder.
Since the case has gained international attention, internet users are demanding justice and the maximum prison term for the accused murderer.
Melanie Hamlett, a feminist writer, was among those who posted their opinions about the unsettling tale on YouTube. In a video titled “Dads have always posed the greatest threat,” Hamlett stated, “He put her in a blender. The mother of his children, his wife and watched YouTube videos while he did it… Men in the home are our number one threat. It’s these family men.”
According to Hamlett, women are finally having a “moment” to speak their story.
“And refuse to let society continue to tell us that we need these protectors. That we should marry and birth our oppressors,” she said.
Gentle Reminder: Be careful how you use your authority and influence, be wise, and treat others with respect.
“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
