Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer Act Wins Britain’s Got Talent 2022

Axel Blake has been crowned the champion of Britain’s Got Talent 2022.

The comedian impressed judges Simon, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams, and Amanda Holden in Sunday’s episode of the ITV competition series and managed to secure a spot in the final with his latest quip and quick wit.

The talent show winner, who was Simon’s golden buzzer act, said: ‘I’m trembling. It means the world to me. There are no words to explain – I can’t believe it!’

Simon was drowned in enthusiastic cheers and applause when it was time for Axl to take the stage during the grand finale.

‘I feel really passionate about you right now. It’s not just how talented you are, but how much I like you and how everyone likes you. I believe we have found a star,’ said the founder of the Got Talent franchise.

The Series 15 runner-up was ventriloquist Jamie Leigh, who enthralled the judges with his latest, standing-ovation-worthy performance, alongside his confidante, Chicken Chuck.
In third place was secondary school teacher Tom Ball, who won praise once again for his astonishing vocal ability.

Axel revealed that he’s friends with Kojo and Nabil and sought his advice before taking to the famous stage.

‘When you see people that are your peers go on to do amazing things it will undoubtedly influence and inspires you,’ he admitted.

‘It also puts even more responsibility on me! I need to make sure I bring something new and unique to stand out!’

Kojo was Simon’s Golden Buzzer act in the 2019 series and sailed through to the grand final.

Nabil appeared on the show one year later and received Alesha’s Golden Buzzer, ultimately leaving the competition in fourth place.

‘I applied for BGT as I saw it as a new opportunity for me to chase my dream of being a household name comedian and prove myself that I have what it takes to take my comedy to the next level,’ Axel added.

‘I’m still a little in shock, to be honest, it’s crazy to think someone I’ve seen on TV for such a long time and hold in such a high esteem found me that funny.’

Congratulations Axel.

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
