Rev. Fr. Jude Okechukwu, a Catholic priest, has weighed in on the feud, publicized on social media, between Nsukka Diocese’s Father Paul Obayi “Okunerere” and Bishop Most Rev. Godfrey Onah.
Okunerere previously stated that he would leave the Catholic Church “any moment now” due to alleged oppression from Bishop Onah. (Read Here)
Reacting, Fr. Jude said on Facebook: “The fight (if any) between a father and son has never and will never be settled on social media. Please your opinion is good but may not be correct.”
He added: “Remember how we all felt during the saga of Fr Mbaka and Bishop VC Onaga. The two family members are now in peace. Remember the uproar of Fr Odey of Abakiliki Diocese. The reconciliation didn’t consider your opinion.
“So many Catholic priests have had face-offs with their immediate authorities and have long settled, while their followers remained hurting and divided in faith and devotion. Be guided! Be informed! Be vigilant!”
