Soldier St@bs Police Officer To De@th In Taraba

A recently enlisted soldier, Dauda Dedan, has reportedly stabbed a police constable, Aaron John, from the Taraba State Command, to death in Jalingo, the state capital.

Speaking to journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer for the command, James Lashen, confirmed that the tragic event took place at 9pm on Monday in Mayo-Goyi, a neighborhood in Jalingo town.

Lashen explained that the deceased, John, was notified by local residents about a dispute involving them and the soldier, and became caught up in the ensuing turmoil, resulting in the soldier stabbing him.

The PPRO, who noted that the soldier is currently on the run, mentioned that the army has already initiated an investigation into the incident and has promised the Police they will track down the suspect to face the full consequences of the law.

“We have reported the matter to 6 Brigade headquarters of the Nigerian Army, and we have been given full assurances of tracking down the fugitive soldier to face the full wrath of the law. Both the army and the police are working hand in hand. We have gotten to the house of the soldier, we would ensure he is arrested and is brought to book accordingly,” he said.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
