Son Stabs Man To Death For Fighting His Mum

A 23-year-old male is scheduled to appear in court on Monday before the Bela Bela Magistrate’s Court on allegations of murder.

The 23-year-old male who is suspected of fatally stabbing a man during a disagreement with his mother was taken into custody by police on Friday in Bela Bela, in the Waterberg District of Limpopo.

The murder took place at Bela Bela, next to a tavern.

A spokesperson for the Limpopo police, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, stated, “Police were alerted about a murder incident after the victim died in the hospital in the early hours of Friday, February 2.”

Based on initial accounts, it appears that the detained murder suspect was at his residence when he received a tip from a neighbor that his mother was being attacked near the neighborhood tavern.

The 23-year-old male raced to the scene and grabbed a knife right away.

He discovered the male victim and his mother fighting. Ledwaba stated, “He took out a knife, stabbed the victim in the upper body, and ran away.”

The incident was reported to emergency medical services, who then took the victim to a hospital.

“After being apprehended at his home, the (murder) suspect was accused of killing someone. Ledwaba said, “He allegedly also handed the weapon he used during the murder incident.”

Another incident is the arrest of a 15-year-old teenager by Vila Nora police in the Waterberg District on charges of stabbing and killing a 17-year-old male.

According to Ledwaba, the heinous murder took place early on Sunday morning in Phahladira hamlet.

“The police were summoned to the scene, and on arrival at the said tavern, the victim was already transported to the local clinic by the tavern owner,” Ledwaba said at the time.

“They proceeded to the clinic and, upon arrival, the medical examiner, certified the victim dead.”

According to a preliminary investigation has revealed that the 17-year-old victim was stabbed with a sharp object in his upper body. Police opened a case of murder and traced the teenage suspect, who was arrested on the same day.

“The motive for this horrific incident is unknown and the investigation is continuing,” said Ledwaba.
