South Africa Is Doing Bad Things I’ll Not Attend G-20 Summit There — US Secretary Of State

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced that he will not attend the upcoming G20 conference in South Africa, citing worries about the country’s policies, such as land reforms and its “anti-American stance.”

South Africa will host the G20 meeting in Johannesburg from February 20 to 21. The G20 meeting is the leading venue for international economic cooperation.

Rubio, in a post via his X account, said, “South Africa is doing very bad things.”

He wrote: “I will NOT attend the G20 summit in Johannesburg.

“South Africa is doing very bad things—expropriating private property and using G20 to promote ‘solidarity, equality, & sustainability.’ In other words: DEI and climate change.

“My job is to advance America’s national interests, not waste taxpayer money or coddle anti-Americanism.”

Rubio’s decision comes only days after US President Donald Trump blasted South Africa’s land practices. Trump had threatened to cut off all US financing to South Africa, branding its land reform initiatives a “human rights violation.”

Meanwhile, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has already rebuffed Trump’s claims, emphasizing that his country has not “confiscated land.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
