South African Football Team Banned For Life For Doing This During A Match

A Limpopo-based team in the bottom division of the South African football team has been banned for life after scoring fifty-nine goals in one match.

Matiyasi FC, competing for promotion to the Provincial ABC Motsepe League, defeated Nsami Mighty Birds 59-1, with 41 goals coming from own-goals.

A player who received a red card in the first half was also credited with a goal in the second half.

The event took place last week, and the South African Football Association (SAFA) reacted quickly.

SAFA’s regional headquarters in Limpopo summons both teams to a Disciplinary Committee hearing on May 25, 2022, in Giyani, according to Soccer24.

The teams were accused of corruption and found guilty of breaking the association’s rules.

The clubs have been permanently barred from all football operations, and the authorities involved in both teams have been suspended for five years within the region, according to the ruling.

On the same day, Shivulani Dangerous Tigers defeated Kototo Happy Boys 33-1 in another match from the same league. There were a total of seven own goals.

The teams were also found guilty of breaking SAFA rules and were banned from any football activities for the rest of their lives.
