Spanish Wedding Turns Deadly, Four Dead

A brawl broke out on Sunday morning in front of a wedding guest in Torrejon de Ardoz, which is around 25 kilometers (16 miles) northeast of Madrid. Following the argument, a vehicle struck the wedding guests and then drove off leaving four people dead and four others critically injured, according to authorities.

According to a national police official who spoke to AFP, authorities have detained three people and are looking for a fourth in connection with the fatal event.

“When we arrived on the scene, we found four people had died of multiple fractures,” said Carlos Polo, head of Madrid emergency services.

According to him, four more injured people have been taken to a hospital for treatment.

A 70-year-old woman and three males aged 40, 60, and 17 died from fractures and multiple injuries. Those injured include two middle-aged men with leg and pelvic fractures and two women with head injuries.

Two others suffered “potentially serious injuries”, according to the emergency services, and two other minor injuries.

According to authorities, the suspect vehicle and its three passengers were reportedly stopped and apprehended 50 kilometers away from the scene of the collision.

The driver of the vehicle who allegedly caused the deaths, aged 35, has been arrested by the Civil Guard in Seseña.

The group was described by the local media as consisting of a father and his two children.

Police announced that they were looking for a fourth person who was allegedly involved.
