They say behind every successful man, there is a woman. But Pastor Dolapo offers a different perspective: he believes that men are the true brains behind every successful marriage.
I partially agree with Pastor Dolapo. If you marry a good man—someone with a heart after God’s own—such a man will not hurt his wife. A God-fearing man will do everything possible to ensure that the home is built on a solid rock, grounded in love, understanding, and patience.
However, let’s not overlook the patience of women. Women are incredibly resilient. They go through so much—dealing with in-laws, mother-in-laws, sisters, extended family—yet they swallow it all for the sake of peace. They endure insults, harsh words, and sometimes even betrayal, all quietly, with grace and dignity. She keeps her cool even when her husband says unkind words, just to keep peace in the home and ensure the well-being of their children.
Both parties need to be extremely patient. Marriage is a partnership, and success often depends on mutual patience, understanding, and forgiveness. It’s not just the patience of the man or the woman alone—it’s the combined effort of both walking together in love and endurance.
So, I ask you: Do you believe Pastor Dolapo is right? Do marriages last because the men are patient? Or is it the patience of both partners that truly makes a marriage stand the test of time?
Share your thoughts! In my view, a successful marriage is a blend of the patience, love, and commitment of both husband and wife—fueled by God’s grace. Because when both partners are willing to endure, forgive, and grow together, nothing can shake their union.
Big love and blessings to all couples striving to build lasting, joyful marriages!
