The Rivers State Police Command has verified the apprehension of a suspected ritual k!ller for attempting to m8rder a woman in Etche Local Government Area of the state.

A community leader in Etche LGA, Kingsley Nwanyanwu, who addressed journalists, stated that the suspect, identified as Iheanyi Asobirionwu from Ndashi in Etche, was detained by members of a local vigilante group called the “Ulakwo Etche Special Squads” for allegedly trying to strangle Vicky Nweke to d3ath.

Nwanyanwu, also the CDC Chairman of Amakumba community, explained that Asobirionwu, who collaborates with internet fraudsters commonly referred to as Yahoo boys, assaulted the woman in Obite Etche, where he lives.

However, fortune did not favor him, and the woman managed to flee and notify residents, including members of the local vigilante group.

Nwanyanwu further noted that the suspect has been transferred to the Okehi Police Division and called on the police to ensure justice is delivered.

“We are urging the security agencies, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State to make sure there would be proper interrogation and investigation for him to be able to mention those who are behind, because he was sent according to his confession, he was sent by people, so that he would mention those who are involved,” he added.
