Suspected Thief Beaten And Macheted By Angry Mob In Ondo

An enraged crowd in Ajilo, Ondo State’s Ondo West Local Government area, captured a suspected thief.

It was reported that the suspected thief was apprehended by security personnel monitoring a property when he attempted to enter the building in the early hours of Saturday, February 24, 2024.

After allegedly running away, the culprit was apprehended by the enraged crowd and given a machete.

According to a witness going by the name of Ibukun, the suspect was beaten blue and black by the mob with sticks and cutlasses till he lost his ability to walk and his clothes were torn.

He added that the event occurred at around 6:30 am and that the mob had slashed him all over his body with the cutlass before fleeing.

The witness claimed that because the building’s owner does not reside in Nigeria, the suspect and his accomplice broke in three times and fled the scene.

The suspect, identifying himself as Ismail Makinde, stated that he was searching the area for his boss and that he worked as a timber operator.

“I came to work in Ondo from Osun State. I stay in Ode-Omu, Osun State. I came to look for my boss in Ondo, but I didn’t know where he was staying. So, my mind told me to enter the building and the security men attacked me while my friends ran away,” he said.

“I am a timber operator. I work at Obete. I don’t know how I got here when we came back from Osun State yesterday. We slept in a bush till the following day before the incident happened.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
