A man only known as Daniel has been taken into custody on suspicion of stabbing a s£x worker to death in Agbor, Delta State’s Ika South Local Government Area.
Punch reports that on Friday night, October 11, 2024, after a s£x-related fight in the brothel Apple Inn, Daniel raped the woman after refusing to pay the agreed-upon amount.
According to sources, the suspect—a frequent patron of the brothel—had justified his reluctance to pay the agreed-upon amount by arguing that the s£x worker had stopped him from having s£x during the third round of the s£x romp.
“While the s£xworker was insisting that he must pay the complete amount as agreed, stressing that he was hard on her, the suspect picked a knife, possibly from the s£x worker’s kitchen, st@bbed her and dragged the knife downward. The man was arrested by police officers after a distress call by some residents,” a source said.
The sources further stated that when the victim—whose name was unknown at the time this report was filled out—was brought to the hospital for emergency care, she was in a severe condition.
A team of police officers from the Agbor Division of the police was sent to the area in response to a distress call, according to a senior police officer who confirmed the arrest to the magazine.
He revealed that the woman was found in a pool of her own blood when they arrived, and an enraged mob was on the verge of lynching the suspect.
In response to the incident, SP Bright Edafe, a spokeswoman for the State Police Command, stated that he had spoken with the Agbor Division DPO, who had assured him that a response would be sent.
“I cannot confirmed it now. I have called the DPO in Agbor, he promised to get back to me but he has not,” he said.
A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
