The marriage between Suzanne Hinn and the well-known faith healer Benny Hinn has now ended officially for the second time in their 46-year relationship.
Court documents from Hillsborough County, Florida, originally referenced by the Trinity Foundation, confirm that the Hinns’ marriage was dissolved through an uncontested divorce on November 19.
When Suzanne Hinn initiated divorce proceedings in the summer of 2024, the couple had already been residing in separate residences more than 60 miles apart.
When contacted for comment, Benny Hinn’s lawyer, Damon Chase, stated that his client did not initiate the divorce, but the matter was resolved peacefully, emphasizing that the two remain deeply in love.
“Benny Hinn and Suzanne Hinn still love each other with a deep, profound soulmate type of love, and they always have for years and years and years. They just got divorced. It was personal feelings. It was something personal to them, but they did what they felt was right,” Chase said. “They’re still very much in each other’s lives. And will always be in each other’s lives.”
Chase stressed that the divorce stemmed from private personal matters, adding that the couple continues to pray together and stays dedicated to Christian ministry.
“There is no end of the relationship. They both love each other very much,” Chase told CP.
“As you can see from reviewing the file, it was extremely amicable. They both will always be in each other’s lives, and like, always, they’re very, very close. They love each other a lot, both of them. And that was clear all through [the process]. This was not like some contentious divorce or anything like that.”
In February 2010, Suzanne Hinn filed for divorce from her husband in Orange County Superior Court in California, listing “irreconcilable differences” after three decades of marriage. The couple had originally wed on August 4, 1979, and they share four children.
During the summer of 2010, the National Enquirer published photographs of Benny Hinn exiting a hotel room with fellow televangelist Paula White, according to Charisma. The tabloid alleged that Hinn and White had spent three nights together in a luxury five-star hotel that the televangelist had reserved under a false name. Hinn subsequently described his relationship with White as a “friendship” that he terminated following the Enquirer story and firmly rejected any suggestion of an “affair.”
“No immorality whatsoever. These people out there are making it sound like we had an affair. That’s a lie,” Hinn declared to supporters during a crusade in California.
Hinn explained that the Vatican had appointed him a Patron of the Arts, and he had invited White to Rome in hopes that she would contribute financially to the preservation of the Vatican’s art collections.
“I let her come with me to Rome so she can donate money,” Hinn said. “That was stupid on my part. And for that, I do ask forgiveness.”
In 2012, the Hinn and his wife publicly reconciled. Benny Hinn also stated at the time that the earlier divorce had been caused by Suzanne Hinn’s dependence on prescription medications.
“Suzanne started taking certain prescription medications to help her cope with some of her personal struggles. She became dependent on those for nearly 15 years, and those medications made her behave erratically at times,” Hinn posted on his ministry website back then.
“As her husband, I did not know the extent of her reliance on these medications, nor did I fully understand just how much harm they were causing to her, physically and emotionally.”
The couple renewed their vows and remarried in 2013 at the Holy Land Experience theme park in Orlando, Florida, in front of approximately 1,000 guests.
