Terrorists Storm Village In Kuchi, Kidnaps 50 Persons

In Kuchi, Munya local government area, Niger State, at least fifty persons were reportedly abducted by armed terrorists.

The terrorists attacked the town at around 2 a.m. on Friday and kidnapped a sizable number of residents, according to reports,

The terrorists, who assaulted the town during a downpour, immediately began a house-to-house raid and gathered their victims as they left for their hideout.

According to Daily Post, the terrorists and their hostages are stuck on their route at the nearby Dangunu River as a result of the intense rain, which has caused the river to overflow its banks.

Concerned Shiroro Youths of Niger State co-convener, Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki confirmed the incident, stating that the gunmen broke into the neighbourhood at around 2 am when it was raining.

He claimed that although there have been no reports of injuries, there have been an estimated fifty persons kidnapped.

According to Kokki, “Reinforcement is immediately needed at the moment to fiercely engage them at their exit route where they are currently stranded. Mobilize able-bodied vigilantes to the scene for a gunfire encounter!”

Kokki then urged the state’s appropriate authorities to act quickly and take the necessary actions.

Emmanuel Bagna Umar, the state’s commissioner for internal security and humanitarian affairs, has confirmed the kidnapping and claimed that security services had responded to the call from locals.

In addition, the state police public relations officer, PRO, Wasiu Abiodun, who also confirmed the kidnapping claimed that nine people had been abducted by armed bandits and terrorists who stormed Kuchi village via Sarkin-Pawa, Munya LGA.

In an attempt to save the victims, he claimed that police tactical teams and vigilante guys have been dispatched to the region and are actively pursuing the criminals.
