“The Day He Put His Private Part Into My Mouth, I Saw He Is Not A Man Of God” – Prayer Warrior

At the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, a woman who identified herself as a “prayer warrior” in the Rivers of Living Waters Church testified that the moment Bishop Bafana Stephen Zondo “shoved his private part into her mouth, she could see he is not a man of God.”

For the second day, the bishop’s attorney questioned the alleged victim about her claims that Zondo had se*ually assaulted her in a church office in December 2018.

The highly qualified and lovely woman, who works for the state, sobbed earlier while testifying that Zondo shoved his privates into her mouth while praying for her in his office.

The witness was informed by defense attorney Piet Pistorius SC that her claims were untrue. He claimed she belonged to a gang that did all in its power to harm Zondo in order to establish a new church.

According to Pistorius, Zondo said that the group—in which the woman was reportedly quite active—tried to persuade members of his church to join the one they planned to form. Pistorius claimed that as a result, they exerted all of their efforts to install Zondo.

The woman, who shall remain nameless, testified that Zondo sent a list of names of persons who caused trouble and who needed to be prayed for to her and other “prayer warriors” at his church.

The woman claimed that the list of names included his rivals in the church business, such as Shepherd Bushiri, despite Pistorius’ claim that Zondo would deny this. Pistorius expressed his gratitude for her bringing up this point. “This is precisely the issue in this case.”

Pistorius said that the Rivers of Living Waters Church was enormous, both inside and outside of South Africa. At any given moment, at least 5000 people are attending a Sunday service.

Those attending the services included high-ranking politicians and celebrities, he said. A top politician, whose name he will not mention at this stage, frequented the church which Zondo heads.

“I put it to you that jealousy of the accused and his church is rife,” Pistorius said. He noted that Zondo managed to build a huge church from very small beginnings.

“Let me be very straight with you. You and others worked actively to bring division within the church, as you and others planned to start a new church. He (Zondo) not only has a large following, but the church is extremely well off, financially,” he said.

“After I appeared before the commission, I realized I also need justice.”

Zondo earlier pleaded not guilty to 10 charges of a se*ual nature, where most members of his flock claimed that he had either raped them or se*ually violated them.
