The Most Influential Person On AIB This Week Is Alexx Ekubo

Alexx Ekubo, professionally known as Lex Ekubo-Okwaraeke, was born on April 10, 1986, and is a well-known Nigerian actor and model. As the first runner-up in the 2010 Mr. Nigeria competition, he has established himself as one of Nigeria’s most attractive and renowned on-screen characters.

He was born on April 10, 1986, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. His parents are Jane and Mazi Ekubo-Okwaraeke. His father was a petroleum marketer, and his mother was a fashion designer and an entrepreneur. He has o has two sisters and one brother.

After graduating from the Federal Government College in Daura, Katsina State, Alexx Ekubo attended the University of Calabar and obtained a law degree. He then continued his education at Calabar Polytechnic, where he obtained a diploma in Mass Communication.

Alexx Ekubo first appeared on the Nigerian entertainment scene in 2005 and has since gone on to star in several blockbuster films. His first cinematic appearance was as Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen in the 2005 Nigerian drama series Sinners in the House.

Several years ago, he landed his first major role in the film “Ladies Men.” He also rose to prominence for his depiction of “Johnny the Loverboy” in Yemi Alade’s music video for the hit tune “Johnny.” Alexx Ekubo has worked with famous entertainment icons such as Yvonne Nelson, Rukky Sanda, Yemi Alade, Monalisa Chinda, and Uche Jombo during his career, demonstrating his flexibility in the industry.

Alexx Ekubo’s awards include Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards for his work in “Weekend Getaway.” He finished first runner-up in the 2010 Mr. Nigeria competition. He got the Nigerian Teen Choice Award for Outstanding TV Personality in 2015, and the Late Ambassador Segun Olusola NBMA for Actor of the Year in 2016.

His success continued with Best Actor in a Lead Role (English) in 2017, Best Actor in a Supporting Role (English), and Best Kiss in a Movie in the 2020 Best of Nollywood Awards. He was named the Most Popular Actor at the Net Honors in 2021.

Alexx Ekubo and his fiancée, Fancy Acholonu, announced their wedding plans on Instagram in May 2021. The traditional ceremony was set for November 20 in Imo State, with the white wedding taking place on November 27 in Lagos State. Unfortunately, Fancy Acholonu called off the engagement in August 2021, confirming the end of their relationship.
