The Most Influential Person On AIB This Week Is Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR

Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo is a Nigerian politician and an economist. He was born on July 28, 1960. He was the former Governor and the chairman of the board of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

He is presently the fifth Democratic governor of Anambra State.
He was appointed as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on May 29, 2004. He also serves on the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee for President Buhari and the International Advisory Group for the British Department for International Development.

Chukwuma is an expert in the macroeconomics industry. He graduated from the University of Nsukka with three degrees. He graduated with first-class honors in 1989, an MSc in Economics in 1987, and a Ph.D. in 1989. He won prizes as the best student in all three levels.

Soludo was appointed as a professor in Economics at the University of Nigeria in Nsukka in 1998. The following year, he was invited as a visiting Professor at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA. Also, he has been hosted as a visiting Scholar in the following schools; the University of Cambridge, the Brookings Institution, the University of Warwick, and the University of Oxford.

Chukwuma has training in a variety of fields, including multi-country macro-econometric modeling, techniques for computable general equilibrium modeling, survey methodology, and panel data econometrics, and has participated in the research, teaching, and auditing in these areas. He studied and taught these courses at numerous universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, and Warwick. Numerous books on this topic have been co-written, co-edited, and authored by Soludo.

Additionally, he has served as a consultant for several international bodies, including; the World Bank, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the United Nations Development Program.

He is happily married to his devoted wife Nonye Soludo, and they have six children together.
