Thiago Silva Reportedly Tired Of Chelsea; Seeks To Leave

According to reports, Thiago Silva wants to leave Chelsea this summer so that he can go back to Brazil and play for his old team, Fluminense.

The seasoned defender, who 2021 won the Champions League with Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel, is dissatisfied with the state of affairs at Stamford Bridge.

Thiago Silva, 38, is said to be regretful about his choice to extend his Chelsea contract by one year in February, according to Globo Esporte.

Silva reportedly intends to terminate his contract with Chelsea at the conclusion of the 2022–2023 season and sign with Fluminense, according to the Brazilian news portal.

According to the report, Silva was persuaded by his close friend, Marcelo, a former Real Madrid player, to join the team that is currently second in Brazil’s Serie A.

According to reports, Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt and veteran striker Fred have reportedly contacted Silva to persuade him to join the team before he retires.

Before putting up his boots, Silva has expressed a desire to win the Copa Libertadores and return to his former team, Fluminense of Brazil.

Silva played for the top Brazilian club for three years, making 143 games, and winning the Copa do Brasil before joining AC Milan in 2009 and relocating to Europe.

“If I told you that I don’t think about it, I’d be lying to you,” Silva told TNT Sports when quizzed on a possible return to Fluminense.

“It’s something that I think about, I already talked a few times with my wife. When you have a long career in Europe, and your children grow up in Europe, this decision is difficult.

“I do have this dream of returning to wear the shirt of Fluminense, everyone knows my desire. But it’s something I prefer to leave in the future to see how things are going to happen.”
