Ahead of Christmas, President Bola Tinubu has authorized free transit across the country. Shortly after Monday’s Federal Executive Council meeting, which was presided over by the President, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information, made this announcement while briefing State House media.
He stated that from December 20 to January 5, 2025, the Federal Government will launch a countrywide free train service. Additionally, he declared that the University of Abuja had been renamed Yakubu Gowon University by FG.
Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, revealed that the cabinet also discussed the Appropriation Bill in great detail when discussing the 2025 budget.
He said he was confident the budget would increase the involvement of the private sector in the country’s economy. The Information Minister affirmed that this FEC is the last meeting for the year, and that FEC will be on recess from 18 of December until 6th of January 2025.
