During a ceremonial march-past held for his arrival at the parade ground in Turkey on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu momentarily fell.
The President joined the guard of honor during the incident, which briefly attracted notice before the program went on uninterrupted.
The goal of Tinubu’s visit is to strengthen Nigeria’s long-standing friendly ties with Turkey while looking into new areas of collaboration to expand their mutually beneficial alliance.
The President will have bilateral discussions on trade, security, investment, and regional cooperation with his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during the visit. Along with other high-level official meetings, the agenda will also include the signing of multiple memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
Senior Nigerian officials who received the President at his hotel include the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake; and the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd).
