Tinubu Rejects Bill To Establish University Of Education In Adamawa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has denied to sign the law that will construct the Federal University of Education in Numan, Adamawa State.

In a letter submitted to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajuddeen, and read by his Deputy, Benjamin Kalu, during plenary on Tuesday, February 4, President Tinubu explained why he opposed the bill.

According to the President, Section 22 of the bill delegated jurisdiction for land disposal to the governor, although it should be vested in the President in circumstances involving land owned by Federal Government agencies, such as universities.

Kalu further stated that President Tinubu pointed out the exclusion of a significant proposal in Section 25(b) of the law, which failed to specify conditions for the proposed institution’s award of degrees.

Last year, the House of Representatives enacted the measure establishing the Federal University of Education, Numan, and forwarded it to the President for assent.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
