Tiwa Savage Reflects On Her Journey With Love And Relationships

Afrobeats artist Tiwa Savage has opened out about her difficulties in finding true love, acknowledging that the only real love she has ever known is with her 10-year-old son, Jamil.

The singer recently talked about her love relationships, including her 2013–2018 marriage to Tunji Balogun, in an interview with ZeZe Mills.

In retrospect, she admitted that what she had thought was love was actually just infatuation.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son. Because every time I look back at all my relationships, I’m like, nah, that wasn’t love. I was just infatuated. At that time, I thought I was in love. I don’t think I experienced true love even when I was married,” the singer said.

“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again, so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she added.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
