Tiwa Savage’s ‘Water And Garri’ Film To Debut In 240 Countries

Water and Garri’, a film produced by Tiwa Savage, the Nigerian singer, is set for release on Prime Video in 240 countries.

The movie, jointly produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios, sees the debut of the award-winning music star as an actress.

Directed by Meji Alabi and filmed in Ghana, ‘Water and Garri’ tells the story of Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer.

Aisha returned to her native country following the loss of a family member after being away for 10 years in the United States.

She had to learn to live with her scars and confront the guilt she left behind while reconnecting with family, old friends, and her past love.

The project features movie stars such as Jemima Osunde, Mike Afolarin, and Andrew Bunting.

Speaking about the movie, Tiwa Savage, who is the lead cast, said the project is a dream come true.

“My film, from an idea to launching globally on Prime Video is a dream fulfilled,” she said.

“I am excited for my fans and newer audiences to experience this vulnerable side of me that I have never shown.

“Meji Alabi brought the story to life in such a beautiful way, and I cannot wait to share it with the world.”

Jimi Adesanya, co-producer and Unbound Studios executive, said the project celebrates the power of film and music.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Prime Video who understood this cultural milestone celebrating the cross-power of film and music,” he said.

The movie title ‘Water and Garri’ originates from the singer’s 2021 EP.

Tiwa Savage has established herself as one of the prominent faces in the Nigerian music landscape.

Water and Garri is written by Comfort Emmanuel, with music by Tiwa Savage.

Congratulations Queen T! I can’t wait to see you in action, the story line is so captivating. Well-done!!!
