Tory Lanez Must Pay Megan Thee Stallion’s Legal Fees After Mocking Her Lawyer

A federal judge in Florida has directed Tory Lanez to pay for Megan Thee Stallion’s legal expenses due to his disruptive behavior during a deposition in her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz.

The deposition, held via Zoom from prison on April 9, descended into disorder as Lanez reportedly mocked and insulted Megan’s attorney, disrupted the questioning process, and declined to respond to basic questions. Consequently, the court imposed sanctions and ordered him to cover the attorney fees associated with that session.

Court documents and reports from AllHipHop indicate that Lanez failed to meet an April 30 deadline to justify why he should not be held in contempt. As a result, the judge not only levied financial penalties but also mandated that a magistrate judge oversee all future depositions to ensure proper conduct. Megan’s legal team is now requesting the appointment of a special master—at Lanez’s expense—to monitor any forthcoming testimonies.

This legal development is part of Megan Thee Stallion’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against Milagro Gramz, whom she accuses of disseminating false and harmful information regarding her mental health, drug use, and personal life, allegedly with involvement from Lanez and his father.

In a prior related ruling, Gramz was fined $5,000 for obstructing access to her social media accounts during a court-ordered forensic investigation.

The continuing legal conflict originates from the 2020 shooting incident in which Megan was injured, and Lanez was found guilty. This recent ruling adds to the mounting legal challenges faced by the Canadian rapper.
