UEFA President Is Confident Of Man City’s 115 FFP Violations

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has stated that the European football regulatory body was ‘correct’ in excluding Manchester City from European competition for violating Financial Fairplay standards (FFP).

City received a two-year suspension from European participation and a £25 million punishment in February 2020 after being found guilty of violating FFP guidelines and misleading UEFA.

The punishment was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport seven months later, but City may face further action from the Premier League.

Ceferin has now stated that he understands the frustration of supporters and other teams with the amount of time the process has taken.

In February of last year, the League accused the Treble-winners of the previous season with an astounding 115 alleged financial regulation violations. This came after a five-year investigation that started in 2018.

Ceferin would not comment on the Premier League’s probe, but he insisted that the Club Financial Control Body of UEFA had made the correct decision four years prior and that they would be found correct.

“We know we were right,” he told The Telegraph. “We wouldn’t decide if we didn’t think we were right.

“I trust that the decision of our independent body was correct.”

City, who have consistently denied any wrongdoing, had their suspension lifted by CAS on the grounds that some of the claims were unfounded and some of the evidence against them was out of date.

The Premier League had previously accused City of using delaying tactics to obstruct their own probe, but Richard Masters announced last week a date has been set for the trial.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
