UNIPORT Reacts To Trending Video Of Lecturer S3xually Harassing A Student

A widely shared video purportedly showing a University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) lecturer s*xually abusing a student has been rejected by the school’s administration.

The University of Port-Harcourt’s (UNIPORT) Public Relations Officer, Dr. Sam Kpenu, responded to the assertion that the incident had taken place at one of the department’s offices by saying that it was simply a case of misrepresentation because the department’s faculty of microbiology is located upstairs.

He went on to say that since the incident in question did not occur at the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State University TV was the one who released the tape.

The statement read; “If you look at the video, the video was released by the Rivers State University TV – RSUTV Video. If you look at the video you will see the inscription RSUTV. So it has nothing to do with the University of Port-Harcourt.

“It is purely misrepresentation and then our faculty of Microbiology, Department of Microbiology is upstairs but if you look at the video you can see outside with grasses. So our microbiology is upstairs, it is in three three-story building upstairs, so we don’t have such a thing in our university.

“That’s why we are not in a hurry to respond to the video. It is the Rivers State University TV that released that, so that thing did not happen at the University of Port-Harcourt. The video is fake and was released by the Rivers State University TV. We never recorded such an incident in our university.”
