Urgent Action Sought for Safe Release of Six Abducted Anambra Law Students

The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) is demanding the immediate and unconditional release of six Anambra-born law students abducted while traveling to Yola, Adamawa State. The students, who had completed their mandatory five-year law programs and were enrolled in the one-year program at the Nigerian Law School, Yola Branch, were kidnapped by gunmen between Benue and Taraba states.

  • Identities: Rev. Ernest Okafor, Ogbuka Fabian, Nwamma Philip, Okechukwu Obadiegwu, Obalem Emmanuel, and Obiorah David
  • Abduction Location: Between Benue and Taraba states
  • Ransom Demand: Initially N20 million per student, now increased to N50 million, with threats to kill the students if demands aren’t met
