US Donates Over $592 Million In Humanitarian Relief Funds To Africa

Well over $592 million in fresh humanitarian relief funds has been approved by the US for Africa.

The Department of State and the United States Agency for International Development would be in charge of overseeing the intervention fund (USAID).

The announcement was made on Friday in Kampala, Uganda by Julieta Valls Noyes, Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.

Refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced people, stateless people, and anyone who is being forcibly displaced will all receive vital support from this assistance.

Others are persecuted individuals, such as those affected by crises in the Horn of Africa, the Sahel, and other emergency circumstances.

According to a statement from the State Department, attempts to remedy overlooked humanitarian crises are heavily limited by a lack of financing.

The U.S. expressed worry over the decreased attention paid by the international community to the humanitarian issues in Africa, notably Uganda.

The American government urged other donors to contribute more money to meet the continent’s expanding charity requirements.
