Valerie Fubara, the wife of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has been making waves with her community-focused initiatives, even as her husband navigates a complex political landscape. Amidst the ongoing feud between Governor Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike, Valerie has remained committed to empowering women and promoting peace in the state.
Her efforts were recently recognized at an event organized by Rivers Women Unite for SIM (RWUS), where she commended the women for their commitment to peace and development. The event, themed “The Woman in an Evolving World”, brought together thousands of women from across the state, who expressed their support for Governor Fubara and his administration.
Valerie’s focus on community care is evident in her advocacy for children’s rights, particularly in tackling child labour and trafficking. She has called on government agencies to intensify efforts to protect children and ensure their well-being.
The Rivers State First Lady has also launched initiatives like the Rivers Rural Women Support Stimulus (RRWSS), which aims to provide financial grants to women in rural communities. This program is part of her broader effort to promote women’s empowerment and economic development.
Despite the challenges posed by the political situation in Rivers State, Valerie remains dedicated to her mission of promoting peace and community development. Her work serves as a beacon of hope for many in the state, and her commitment to empowering women is an inspiration to all.
