Veekee James a Nigerian fashion designer and gospel singer has made it clear that her husband, Femi Atere, cannot have a female closest friend.
Veekee made this statement during an appearance on the Off the Top podcast, stressing that although some men are permitted to have close female companions but it is not permitted in her marriage.
Veekee clarified that her relationship functions differently and that she feels at ease serving as her husband’s closest female confidante.
Every marriage has different boundaries, she said, and couples should determine what works best for them.
She said: “Femi Atere can never have a female best friend, even if he does I’ll occupy it with all of herself and her body alone.”
She has also talked about how she almost fell into despair as a result of being criticized and falsely accused of “snatching” her spouse from a friend. She has advised woman to prioritize and assist their spouse.
