Weekly Celebrity Spotlight For July 3-9: Shinzo Abe

Hello guys! It’s the second week of July and trust me guys, this week has been a hectic one filled with lots of recognitions, troubles, attacks, and dramas.

The celebrity in the spotlight for this week is a very prominent figure in the world. A man with a unique personality who most people describe as “one of the most compassionate world leaders!”.

Our celebrity spotlight for the week is the Former Prime Minister of Japan; Shinzo Abe who was assassinated recently on Friday, July 8, 2022.

Shinzo Abe was fatally shot during a campaign speech in the western city of Nara and airlifted to a local hospital. Doctors struggled to save Abe, but he died at 5:03 p.m. local time, about five and a half hours after being shot. He bled to death from two deep wounds, one on the right side of his neck, despite emergency treatment including massive blood transfusions.

The death of Shinzo Abe came as a shock to many world leaders.

When I heard of his death a few hours after the shooting, I just realise that nowhere and no one is safe. The world has changed!

How can Japan, one of the world’s hardworking nations, the cleanest nation, the nation which comes out from all the odds every year experience a tragic rage? How? Something went wrong with the security details on the campaign ground. How was this an oversight? How?

In the twinkle of an eye, a once bubbling 61 years old former Prime Minister of a country he loves and worked hard to build was assassinated in broad daylight!

This is really heartbreaking!

Gun violence is extremely rare in Japan. It’s a country with one of the world’s lowest rates of gun crime due to its strict laws on gun ownership.

Meanwhile, Shinzo Abe’s suspected killer who was immediately arrested at the crime scene is identified as disgruntled 41-year-old Tetsuya Yamagami. He is a former member of Japan’s navy who will definitely be punished for his crime.

Mr. Abe was still highly influential in the governing Liberal Democratic Party even though he was out of office. He led its largest faction, but his ultra-nationalist views made him a divisive figure to many.

He resigned as prime minister in 2020 as Japan’s longest-serving leader. His death was the first assassination of a sitting or former Japanese premier since the days of prewar militarism in 1936.

In this moment of immense grief and sorrow, we celebrate an Icon “Shinzo Abe”, who made so much impact on the world.

Agnesisika’s blog sympathizes with our friends and audiences in Japan. We offer our sincere condolences to Mrs. Akie Abe, his family, and the people of Japan.

May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Rest on Legend! Rest on Shinzo Abe! Your Legacy lives on!
