West Ham Completes Purchase Of Mohammed Kudus

West Ham has completed the £38 million transfer of Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Kudus from Ajax.

On Saturday, August 26, Kudus got a medical after travelling into London on a private plane with the club’s technical director Tim Steidten.

The Hammers have now agreed a fee of €41.5 million plus €3 million in add-ons (£35.5 million plus £2.5 million) for Kudus.

After Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, and Konstantinos Mavropanos, he is the club’s fourth summer acquisition.

Kudus has signed a five-year deal with West Ham claiming they had “fought off intense competition from some of Europe’s leading clubs to sign the attacker.

“I’ve been dreaming to play in a league like this since I was a kid,’ Kudus told West Ham’s club website.

“I’ve been dreaming of this moment and I’m so happy to be here. But it doesn’t stop here, I want to keep going.

“I try my best to entertain the fans as I think that’s what football is all about. I’m just here to do my best and help the team. I’m really happy to be here.

“I will fight for the badge. I can’t wait to get started.”

This summer, Brighton, Arsenal, and Chelsea were among the clubs interested in Kudus.

The attacker scored four goals in three games for Ajax this season before joining West Ham, including a hat-trick against Ludogorets Razgrad in the Europa League.

Moyes thanked the West Ham board and Steidten for their efforts in bringing Kudus to the club.

“I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Mohammed to West Ham United,” Moyes said.

“He’s a terrific young talent, who has already shone at the very highest level for Ajax in the Champions League and made well over 150 senior appearances at the age of 23 – so it was no surprise to see so many top clubs chasing his signature this summer.

“The fact we’ve been able to attract a player of his undoubted quality to London Stadium shows the pull West Ham have now – the Board and Tim deserve huge credit for getting this one over the line.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
