West Ham To Challenge VAR Call After Late Equaliser Ruled Out Against Arsenal

West Ham will seek explanation after VAR disallowed stoppage-time equaliser in 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.West Ham United are set to formally contact refereeing body the Professional Game Match Officials (PGMO) after their stoppage-time equaliser against Arsenal was disallowed in arguable circumstances.Callum Wilson thought he had salvaged a late point for the Hammers, but the goal was ruled out following a VAR review that judged a foul by Pablo on Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya in the build-up.

BBC Sport reports that West Ham will request clarification from PGMO and also seek access to the audio exchange between referee Chris Kavanagh and VAR official Darren England regarding the decision.

The ruling proved decisive, as Arsenal went on to secure a 1-0 victory, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points over Manchester City.

The result leaves West Ham in 18th place, deepening concerns over their relegation battle as the season approaches its final stretch.
