“Why We Were Able To Beat Chelsea 1-0” – Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard, Everton’s manager, has revealed why his club beat Chelsea 1-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Everton defeated Chelsea, according to Lampard, because his players showed outstanding discipline and work ethic against Thomas Tuchel’s team.

In addition, the former Chelsea midfielder stated that his side did not turn off much against Chelsea and that his goalkeeper performed admirably against the visitors.

Lampard’s side took all three points against the Blues thanks to Richarlison scoring the only goal of the game.

Frank Lampard stated during his post-match press conference: “It’s about making sure the players were disciplined today because when you play top-level players, they will punish you. We didn’t switch off much today and when we did, we had a brilliant goalkeeper to help us.”

He added, “My only worry before the game is that [the fans’ reaction could mean] we would run for the sake of it. You can’t do that against Chelsea, as they will just play through you. The discipline and work ethic was great. It stemmed from great support and the players delivered.”
