Wife Files For Divorce And Sues Husband Over $15,000 For Not Bathing

A handsome man in his forties is feeling an unpleasant armpit smell. He is ready to shower to feel fresh again.

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, people came to understand how crucial it is to maintain good cleanliness for their entire body, not just their hands.

But other people simply don’t enjoy bathing or taking showers.

This allegedly includes a Turkish guy who was sued for more than $15,000 by his wife, who was disgusted by his hygiene, or lack thereof.

The woman, identified by Turkish news sources as AY, filed for divorce from her spouse, CY, citing his lack of personal cleanliness as the main reason.

She was represented in family court by a lawyer who claimed that the man smelled like sweat, seldom showered, and dressed in the same clothes for at least five days straight and has refused bathing.

“Spouses must fulfill the responsibilities of the shared life. If the shared life becomes unbearable due to behaviour, the other party has the right to file for divorce,” the woman’s lawyer told the courts.

“We must all be careful in human relations! For this reason, we must pay attention to both our behaviour and cleanliness.”

She even had witnesses who validated her statements. This included some of the husband’s coworkers and acquaintances in common, according to sources.

They all allegedly made remarks that supported the man’s poor personal hygiene.

The husband’s inadequate personal cleanliness was deemed sufficient cause for divorce by the Supreme Court of Appeals and the Regional Court of Justice, which recently rendered a definitive ruling.

Why would someone be so comfortable not taking their bath for days? This man is clearly too lazy to care about his health and well-being.
