Wofai Fada’s In-laws Oppose Their Son’s Union With The Actress

The family of Taiwo Cole, husband of Wofai Fada, the actress, have distanced themselves from the couple’s union.

Controversy broke out after Wofai  shared  photos from her engagement ceremony with Taiwo.

Shortly after, videos from the couple’s wedding ceremony in Cross River, Calabar started circulating on social media.

Taiwo’s family swiftly released a disclaimer on Sunday.

“Images and videos come to our attention showing our son Taiwo getting married to a Wofai Ewa in a traditional ceremony in Ugep, Cross River State,” the statement reads.

“This serves to notify all acquaintances, family, and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island Lagos are not aware of any marriage ceremony of our Son Taiwo Olakitan Cole, neither did we grant permission nor support in this regard.

“As such, persons parading themselves as new members of the Cole heritage by this purported event is not known nor accepted by the family.

“All publications and documents being circulated about this are to be disregarded.”

Despite the disapproval from Taiwo’s family, Wofai shared a snippet from the marriage on her Instagram page.

Taiwo’s father shared some light why he disapproved their union.

In his words;

Speaking out in an interview, he stated that his son had spoken to him about his upcoming nuptial to Wofai just 7 months ago and had told him that she was pregnant and wanted them to get married quickly. He had then spoken to Wofai’s father, and the two were still talking about the wedding when he was blindsided with his wedding invitation. According to him, he was shocked when he discovered his son had printed wedding invitations.

Taiwo was summoned to the palace with the elders, but he only apologised and proceeded with the wedding preparation. The father noted how his son is just 30, and Wofai is 38.

It can be devastating when you think you’ve found the perfect partner and your parents disapprove of them. If you’re close to your parents, you want their approval of your marriage. But you also want to remain loyal to the person you’re committing to spending the rest of your life with.

Try to understand your folks’ willingness to be disliked by you as a sign of their love for you. Realize that if you and your partner are truly in love, waiting a few years to get married won’t destroy your love for one another.

Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy

One ❤️❤️❤️
