Comedian Woli Arole has shared his opinions about citizens of the US, UK, and Canada enjoying their citizenship on his social media.
He made the amusing observation that he never celebrates his Nigerian citizenship.
As a Nigerian who never celebrates his own citizenship, Woli Arole questioned why others celebrate that of other nations.
He wrote: “Why do people celebrate citizenship of UK, Canada and America and Me wey I Dey Naija never celebrate my own. Abeg John, Feyi, Flo, Charles let’s celebrate.
Jor. Who’s celebrating with ME?”
Being a recognized citizen of a country has many legal benefits, which may include depending on the country, the rights to vote, to hold public office and so on.
People are so excited when they finally get this opportunity in other countries because of the huge benefits attached to it so you won’t blame them if they are not eager to celebrate Nigeria citizenship because of the hardship.
