The decaying corpses of a Florida lady and her 3-year-old twins were found inside a car with a “really bad stench” emanating from it, prompting police to launch an investigation.
Andrea Langhorst, a 35-year-old lady, and her two children, Olivia and Adam Dryer, were discovered dead on Sunday evening, March 20, after police got complaints of a suspicious vehicle parked outside a Melbourne apartment complex with blurry windows.
Reporting the suspicious vehicle, a 911 caller said: “The windows are all fogged. They said there’s like a really bad stench coming out of it. But, you can’t see into the car because the windows are so fogged.”
It’s unknown how long the family was trapped in the vehicle or when they died.
The autopsy and toxicology reports are still being awaited by the investigators.
They’re also looking for security footage from the neighborhood to see when Langhorst parked her car and if she had any subsequent interactions with anyone.
Randy Langhorst, her father, believes drugs played a role in her death. According to reports, she had a history of drug charges.
Her father said to Florida Today, “The twins were her pride and joy. All I can think is that maybe … maybe the car was running and she fell asleep, maybe the fumes overwhelmed them. I don’t know.”
Randy stated that he hadn’t spoken to his daughter since March 11 and that he had informed the police last week that she was missing, requesting their assistance in finding her.
He said “We were looking for her and hadn’t heard anything from her. That was unusual for her. We wouldn’t have daily contact with her, but this was a while
“She was a free spirit, smart as a whip, beautiful, but lived her life to the beat of her own drummer. It’s just a tragedy.”
