Woman Chains Up 9-Year-Old Stepson For Being A Wizard

The Bayelsa State Police Command has detained a woman named Peremoboere Botu for allegedly chaining her stepson, Godday Simon Aprebo, to a pole because she believed he is a wizard.

The woman, who was detained by Ekeki Police Division agents, had accused the 9-year-old child of practising witchcraft against his family, manipulating bad luck on his father, and even attempting to kill him.

According to reports, the event happened on Agboli Street in Okutukutu community, in the state’s Yenagoa Local Government Area.

The victim’s stepmother and biological father allegedly chained him to stop him from fleeing and claimed that he is a wizard, according to neighbors who spoke to newsmen.

In order to get him to admit to the claimed wizardry, they also tortured him continuously.

According to the Daily Trust, the boy’s father, Simon Afrebo, who is reportedly a prophet, has now fled.

The police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the event, stated that an ongoing covert investigation has been launched into the case.
