A woman reportedly passed away after engaging in an extended sexual encounter with her partner at a hotel in Ode-Irele, the administrative hub of Irele Local Government Area in Ondo State.
The event took place on the night of Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at a well-known hotel located along Gboroye Street, where the unidentified woman was said to have been staying with her male companion.
The deceased, believed to be of Urhobo origin, was reportedly a liquor shop operator based in Ore, the administrative center of Odigbo Local Government Area.
According to reports, she journeyed to Ode-Irele to meet her lover, who had already checked into the hotel in preparation for her arrival.
A credible community source, speaking to the Ondo State government-owned Hope Newspaper, stated that the man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was allegedly involved in prolonged sexual activity with the woman before she suddenly lost consciousness around 9:30pm.
The source further noted that the man raised an alarm when he realized the woman was no longer responsive.
She was promptly taken to the Ondo State Specialist Hospital in Ode-Irele, where the attending doctors pronounced her dead.
Her body has since been placed in the hospital’s morgue, while the police are said to have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
The local coordinator of the Amotekun Corps in Irele, Mr Joseph Ebisanmi, acknowledged the incident but noted that it had not yet been officially reported to his office.
Likewise, the chairman of Irele Local Government, Deacon Olajide Akinfe, verified the incident, stating that she had traveled from Ore to meet her lover.
