Woman Drinks Poison After Discovering Husband Married Another Wife

A woman in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe, is receiving medical attention at Kwekwe Hospital after attempting suicide by drinking poison after learning that her husband had secretly married another woman.

Forbes Degwa, a top manager at a local company, allegedly paid Lobola for his second wife without alerting his first wife, Alice. Forbes married Angeline Zvikomborero Mujanja on December 14, last year, which saddened Alice.

The incident took place on January 8, when Angeline, the second wife, allegedly notified Alice about the lobola payment, prompting Alice’s dramatic decision. Alice, devastated by the treachery, swallowed poison in an attempt to end her life.

When contacted by H-Metro for comments, Forbes initially evaded questions and later disconnected the call, stating, “Who gave you this information? Can I call you back in 15 minutes?”

Angeline, when approached, denied involvement, claiming, “I don’t know anyone or anything about what you are talking about. I wasn’t married on the date you are referring to. You can verify your claims with your source.”

A source close to the situation stated that Angeline married Forbes on December 14 and told Alice, resulting in the dramatic change of events. The insider further said that Alice, crushed by the betrayal, took desperate steps.

Alice, an orphan who was raised by her late grandmother, has dealt with severe emotional loads her entire life, and this recent betrayal has further exacerbated her problems. She is still fighting for her recovery while receiving hospital treatment.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
