“Work With My Administration,” Gov. Soludo Tells IPOB During His Inauguration

On Thursday, Charles Soludo, the recently sworn-in governor of Anambra State, reached out to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its military arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), seeking to bring about peace in the state.

IPOB and ESN were urged by Soludo to work with his government to combat insecurity in the state.

He made the remarks while giving his inaugural address in Awka, the state capital.

Soludo challenged the intentions of secessionist movements, wondering if it was time to investigate IPOB and ESN’s goals.

Gov. Soludo said, “It is time to interrogate the purpose of IPOB and ESN. The politicians using it as a means must come out for a consensus regarding our future. The conspiracy of silence by stakeholders must stop.

“I challenge the group denying the killings to come out and work with my administration to ensure peace and security in the state.”

IPOB and ESN have been associated with numerous of murders in the Southeast.

The group claimed that some politicians and governors exploit criminals to wreak harm in the region while exonerating its members of any involvement.
