Former US President Donald Trump likened the US to a “third-world country,” claiming that supermarkets, jewelry, and hardware stores lacked essential commodities.

During a Tuesday evening interview on Just The News, a show on right-wing network Real America’s Voice, Trump was asked about how he would ‘triage’ the numerous challenges affecting the country if he were to run for office and win in 2024.

Trump said, “These things — we would’ve never been talking about — I’ll give you an example. Supply chain.

“You go to a store, you don’t have bread. We’re like a third-world country. They don’t have things. You go to buy something at Tiffany, you go to buy something at a hardware store — high, low — they don’t have products.

“They say — even me, when I order things, like for furnishings, for a building or something — they say it’s going to take nine months to get it. Used to be like, same-day service.

“Supply chain — we never even heard the term. It wasn’t like, the system was working.”

Trump stated that the Biden administration has totally broken the system.

He said, “Our system is broken, and we’re going into socialism, and we’re going into communism.”

Trump continued by stating that he would address the migrant situation at the southern border first, followed by ‘inflation, which we can handle.’

The interview comes just days after Biden announced a $5.8 trillion budget proposal for the Fiscal Year 2023, which includes hundreds of millions of dollars aimed at resolving supply chain issues that have halted global freight travel for months.

As US markets struggle to emerge from the Covid-19 economic lockdown, inflation hit a fresh 40-year high of 7.9% in February.

During the interview, Trump also stated that if he were still in power, Putin’s invasion would have ‘never’ occurred.

He stated that Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine after months of gathering soldiers on the Ukrainian border was a result of his absence from the White House.

Donald Trump said, “All of a sudden I’m out and they started forming on the border. And I actually thought it was a negotiating ploy. I thought it was very smart because I said, “That’s a good way to negotiate.” But it wasn’t.

“And I think if Putin had to do it again he would have maybe done everything the same but he wouldn’t have gone in.”
