YouTuber Shot In The Stomach During Prank Video

Content gone wrong! A popular US YouTuber who enjoys posting videos on the platform where he engages in strange behavior in an effort to frighten people was reportedly shot close to death by his target.

According to the Guardian, Tanner Cook apparently perpetrated a practical joke on a man at a mall in Dulles, Virginia, south of Washington at around noon on Sunday for the channel Classified Goons’ over 40,000 viewers.

Cook claims that he was being recorded by a friend when things took a nearly fatal turn, according to authorities and an interview he gave to the local TV station WUSA.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Alan Colie, allegedly pulled a revolver and shot Cook in the stomach. Cook, 21, was critically injured when emergency personnel transported him to the hospital, but he recovered from the wound and required surgery.

“I was playing a … simple … joke, and this guy didn’t take it very well,” Cook told WUSA from his hospital bed.

Cook asserted that the shooter “didn’t say anything” before shooting at him, which, according to the cops, also caused panic among mall patrons.

The report states that Colie was arrested by police while seated in the food court of the mall near a gun. He was then charged with aggravated malicious injury, shooting while committing a crime, and firing a gun into an occupied structure.

Cook’s father; Jeramy Cook says they are confident that the YouTuber would recover fully. “We live on faith, not fear,” Jeramy Cook said to WUSA.

Tanner Cook asserts that he does not have a problem with Colie. He continued, “Making videos is my life’s passion, and I don’t intend to let the shooting stop me.”

Pranksters face a greater challenge daily one can never be too prepared. Some pranks tend to get their target angry so they may flare up and react in a very violent manner.

Well, we hope Tanner gets better soon.
