Man Arrested For Allegedly K!lling Sister And Burying Her In Shallow Grave

A 30-year-old man has been detained in Kabokweni, near White River in Mpumalanga, South Africa, in connection with the alleged murder of his older sister, whose body he reportedly concealed in a shallow grave at his residence nearly a year ago.

Police reported that the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday, June 3, following his alleged admission to killing his 44-year-old sister after a heated dispute on May 29, 2024. According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, the man revealed to authorities that a confrontation with his sister escalated into physical violence, leading to her death.

“He allegedly fatally assaulted her and buried the body in a shallow grave in the yard,” Mdhluli stated. “It is further alleged that the suspect kept this incident to himself and only recently disclosed the information to others, leading to police being informed.”

Mdhluli noted that the woman’s body has not yet been recovered, but relevant authorities have been contacted. “Police forensic services and the K9 unit have been notified, and the necessary processes will be followed,” he added.

The investigation continues, and the suspect is expected to face court proceedings once formal charges are filed.
