President Tinubu Summons Ibas, ex-Rivers Administrator To Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu has called the former Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), to a meeting at Aso Villa.

Ibas, who arrived at the presidential villa around 5:50 pm dressed in brown traditional attire, was accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ola Olukayede.

After declaring a State of Emergency in Rivers and suspending the state’s Executive arm, President Tinubu appointed Ibas as the Sole Administrator of the state, tasking him with a six-month tenure.

He exited office on September 17, following the conclusion of the six-month emergency rule, after President Tinubu instructed the suspended state governor, Sir Sim Fubara, his deputy, and members of the state House of Assembly to resume their duties starting the previous Thursday.

The Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, during its initial plenary session after the emergency rule ended, announced plans to probe the state’s financial expenditure during the six months of emergency rule.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
