Suspected Cultists K!ll Two In Ebonyi

Armed assailants have slain a keke rider and a hairdresser in the Oriuzor neighborhood, situated within Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

These slayings are suspected to stem from a cult-related assault carried out by individuals from a competing cult faction.

Based on reports from community insiders, the attackers, presumed to belong to the Vikings confraternity, raided the location during the evening of Saturday, November 1, 2025, and lethally assaulted the pair of males named Ogele Ifeanyi and Nweke Emmanuel.

Ifeanyi, who worked as a hairdresser, was apparently the primary objective and was claimed to be affiliated with the Neo Black Movement (NBM), commonly referred to as Aye.

Reports indicate that those who targeted him had been tracking him over a period because of his purported role in the murder of a high-ranking Vikings official, an act that triggered this vengeful response.

The details regarding the passing of the other casualty, Emmanuel, are still not fully understood.

Community members portray him as a keke driver with no ties to any cult operations. Speculation holds that Emmanuel could have been a blameless onlooker, slain merely for finding himself in the unfortunate spot at the unfortunate moment as he pulled up at the hairdressing salon for a trim right when the assault took place.

Inhabitants have voiced their alarm about the escalating pattern of cult clashes within the neighborhood and have urged authorities and law enforcement bodies to intervene decisively.

The public relations officer for the State Police Command, Joshua Ukandu, verified the fatalities on Monday, naming the deceased as Ogele Ifeanyi, the hairdresser who met his end inside his workplace, and Nweke Emmanuel, the keke driver.

“The incident occurred on 1st November 2025 around 10pm, the command is investigating the incident,” he added.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
