The well-known Nigerian actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, better known by his stage name as Baba Ijesha, has been formally released from prison.
After being detained for more than three years due to allegations of s*xual assault, the actor was released on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Actor Yomi Fabiyi announced Baba Ijesha’s release on Friday night on his Instagram page, saying that he was set free following the Appeal Court’s clearance.
Fabiyi wrote: “You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER.
“I am also happy you were cleared by the APPEAL COURT of ever having s*x/defile any child/minor. The 7-year-old story is a charade. We live in a terrible world, where sentiments and wickedness rise above the rule of law and truth.”
