According to Pere Egbi, a former housemate on Big Brother Naija, living alone is inappropriate for young unmarried ladies.
He advised young, unmarried women to make accommodations for their friends or relatives to keep them company.
On his X handle, he wrote, “Personal advice to young women living in Nigeria who are single, don’t live alone by yourself.
“Have someone stay with you always. A friend, family member/s. It’s never a cool thing to live alone as a woman.”
Responding to a fan who asked whether his advice was because of the news of a female singer, Ifunanya Nwangene, who recently passed away after suffering a snake bite at her residence in Abuja, the reality star said, “everything.”
He also added that it is generally “not good to live alone” irrespective of gender.
Pere’s statement sparks an important conversation about safety and societal expectations for young women. While opinions may vary, it highlights the need for ongoing dialogue about independence, security, and cultural norms.
Ultimately, every woman should have the freedom to choose her living arrangements without undue judgment or restriction.
Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy
